Le Blog du Curé de Fontenay-le-Comte n° 1.058 : Avez-vous rédigé votre testament ?

To my amazement, within a few days, two people have shared their wills. Not for me to confide that they would bequeath their collection of stamps or their favorite canary, nor tell me who would inherit their property, but I submit the message they intended to leave their families when the time comes the big start.
A spiritual testament, somehow, as a record of their lives together discovery and appeals. I found this approach very exciting and very relevant! Indeed, people do not seventy, eighty or more years on this earth without having observed, experienced, matured and grown up! Why, when the time comes, do not take the time to take stock? To measure the progress, obstacles, passages made, the progress made? Through the life we led, whatever it was, what have we tried to construct, transmit, share, testify?
It gave me an idea: What if everyone took the trouble to make a brief assessment of writing all this, all that was his life? By giving a little time, of course, the season of Lent, for example, or the time of the next year ...
Many say they are in effect: "Oh, my life has been extraordinary! I did what I could, but if it over again ..." No! There is no recruiting! Your life has been what it was, period! No question of wanting to repeat the past or to embellish. But there comes a time when it may be well to cast a look of peace on the years, and reap the essential message.
The will is often a mirror of life! Do what little work is the opportunity to read our experiences in the light of God!

PS: Rarely in comments, but very often by mail, or through verbal exchanges, I heard people worry over some comments a bit "complex". I quote you received this response yesterday: "I have trouble with these comments a bit complicated, and besides, I do not always know what they mean! Finally, there is probably not essentially because readers are mainly interested in the contents of the notes. But maybe could you say what are you waiting for a comment that is at least interesting and accessible to all? Is this possible? Large thank you! "
This type of problem is not new to this blog! At the same time, I think we should respect the mode of expression of each! Everyone does with what it is, and I want to thank all those who have ventured to put some words in comment on this blog, whatever. That said, I'd rather see the comments not as an exegesis, intelligent, no doubt, yet complex, that j 'I meant or not, but as a place of sharing Brotherly simple, accessible to all. Not in the form of speech, but, in practice, through sharing of experience. For example, we tell how one considers a spiritual testament staff, or if it does not happen to us wanting to be the leader, etc ... : The concrete, the life, the experiences of fraternal, although related to the topic of the day and inviting us to trust each other and hope ...
What do you think?
