Le Blog du Curé de Fontenay-le-Comte n° 1.055 : "Mon père ne croit pas au mariage !"
It is fashionable today to repeat that youth no longer believe in anything, whereas before, my old age and over, we at least we had values and our convictions were more assured, we did not say it was not anything like these kids today who do not respect anything.
Well, dear old, I regret to say that things are not so simple! Indeed, each day I meet young have a nice ideal and seniors who demonstrate an appalling selfishness!
However, it is true, I also regularly deal with wayward youth and elders quite admirable in their behavior. That is to say we should stop demonizing or devalue as today's youth that the older generations, and do not continue to believe that times past were better than the present.
This reflection came to me from an exchange with a young girl who experiences a beautiful love one who shares his life for several years now. After thoughtful, these two young people come to the decision to unite their lives forever. Yet family life was not very happy. He was abandoned by his father when he was young child, while his friend remains traumatized by the attitude of his dad: "Believe me," he repeats constantly, do not marry! You'll be disappointed! Marriage is very difficult! You will expose yourself to serious problems! Stay as you are, and keep your freedom! me, anyway, I no longer believe in marriage. " It even seems that it takes not to drive his daughter to the altar on the day of his marriage!
I asked the young: "But is it that, given all that you live with your family, you still believe in marriage?" "Yes, they replied with one heart. This is not because our parents have had difficulties that we must deny ourselves on this path. Simply, we are warned that marriage must place it on a solid foundation. Communication, dialogue, concern for the happiness of the other, mutual respect, is what will allow us to stand firm and grow in our love. "
May the youth have in front of beautiful examples of fidelity in love, from the generations that preceded them!
